Successful ICDA Members Meeting 2013 in Beijing

Following the long-expected and successful opening of ICDA China office in November 2012 Beijing was the place to be for the ICDA Members' Meeting 2013.

China, with its predominant role in the world economy today is also a major actor of the chrome industry, ICDA is proud to have had its Members annual conference in Beijing and also to have an increasing involvement from its local Members.

This conference has provided the participants with a clear overview on the current and coming challenges for China as well as a highlight on the antagonist relation with South Africa. The chrome industry remains a dynamic one despite the global economic situation and all speakers agreed that the crisis is probably behind us, our industry is likely to adapt to the new picture and stick together for new exciting developments!

We had the chance to have high-profile speakers focusing on various aspect such as macro-economic overviews from both India and China top Economists, ferrochrome and chromite presentation with global and local point of view as well as an excellent picture of the chrome chemicals industry in China and other great-interest papers covering one of our main market which is stainless steel.

Ordinary Members of ICDA were invited to participate at ICDA Council elections.

Mr Subhrakant Panda, MD and CEO of Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA), has been elected as ICDA President and has nominated Mr Mark Midgley (ENRC), as Vice-President.

Also the Members of the ICDA enjoyed a friendly and pleasant time through the social activities and evening functions enabling networking in a cheerful atmosphere.
