Architects Lunch and Learn

NORTH AMERICA - USA: NI Architectural sector specialist Catherine Houska is using webinars to train architects and structural engineers. One example was a “Lunch And Learn” for 30 people from the San Francisco Airport Authority in early February. By having telephone discussions in advance, it was possible to tailor the one hour webinar specifically to their needs and concerns. There were 30 minutes of questions afterwards. Topics ranged from impact damage and repair to inappropriate cleaning to corrosion. Sustainability aspects are emphasized. The airport uses 316 extensively on the exterior and 304 likewise on the interior. Although not a replacement for face-to-face visits, webinars aimed at a specific group are a very cost-effective and timely way to promote the use of nickel-containing materials.
